Description of the Course
Studying pawn structures is more fruitful than memorizing opening moves.
This course teaches you deeply different ideas, maneuvering of pieces and both sides’ plans in one of the most played structures nowadays. The Boleslavsky Structure is present in countless defense and opening variations. This is NOT a course about an opening.

Why Was This Course Created?
In chess games there are always recurring structures. Even though you play different openings or sequences of moves, there are some typical pawn structures which always will be repeated.
When we analyze a given structure, we identify the plans for each side. We also recognize the pieces maneuvers and typical ideas. This allows you to notice what the most important thing is and how to play many positions in advance.
One of these structures is Boleslavsky’s, a game position arising from countless openings and defenses. It can be seen in many variations from the Sicilian, but also in the Nimzowitsch Defense, Pirc, King’s Indian Defense, Scandinavian Defense and even in the English opening, just to mention a few.
The idea is that when you know a structure, you don’t care about the opening and, this is the big advantage!
To know about structures is a flexible learning method, which teaches you to think rather than to memorize.

We introduce you to the Boleslavsky pawn structure, a structure that arises in all kind of openings and defenses, so that you may be able to play it either from the white side or from the black side. Also, you will learn universal principles to improve further your positional understanding of chess.
We discover the common plan for White as well as how you can stop Black’s advancement on the kingside. In positions where both players are trying to realize their plan, it’s extremely critical to play quickly, and then try to realize your plan as fast as possible!
We see a couple of new interesting variations, plans and maneuvers for the given pawn structure; as well as general positional ideas about playing chess. We teach you how to win in chess using a certain strategic plan.
We see some new possibilities for both sides, plans for Black on the queenside and plans for White on the kingside, as well as the ways to break those defensive constructions. Also, we see why it’s always good for White to advance the pawn to c5.
We show you what to do when there is no clear attacking plan in the middlegame. We teach you when to trade off your bad bishop using the principle of the fight for activity.
We find out the right strategy for Black in positions with closed center arising from The King’s Indian Defense, the Nimzo-Indian Defense and the Sicilian Defense. How to stop White’s opportunities on the queenside, the f5 advancement and trading off the bad bishop, and a gradual plan for Black to lock the position on the queenside.
You will learn how to play with opposite-colored bishops, how to play the endgame, how to choose the right plan in the middlegame, how to attack on the kingside, how to use central squares and whatnot.
We see a position arising from the Najdorf Variation and a bunch of common middlegame and endgame plans. We study how to play in the middlegame, in the endgame and the plans you can realize.
Here we will see how Black can develop his attack on the kingside, a pawn setup on the queenside to block White and how you can place your pieces on active squares.
We see a great combination by Black and a great play overall. You can attack on the kingside on this pawn structure, not only with your pawns but also with your pieces.
